By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information by the Company in accordance with this privacy policy and our Terms of Service.   • If you want to out of receiving communications from us and our partners, you can request to remove your information from our database and choose to not receive future communications unrelated to the Service by contacting us at patrick@Myhelpathome.org.

1.1 Personal Information

  • The Company collects and processes the following personal information about you only if you voluntarily choose to share such information with the Company:
  • information such as your name, address, phone number and email address, which you provide by completing forms through the Services, upload or submit any material via the Services or request any information from us;
  • in connection with an account sign-in facility, your log-in and password details;
  • communications you send to us, for example to report a problem or to submit queries, concerns or comments regarding the website, Services or its content;
  • We may also require you to provide us with your financial information, including billing name, address and credit card number (“Financial Information”) where you choose to use our Services.
  • information from surveys, promotions and competitions that we may, from time to time, run on the website, if you choose to respond to, or participate in them;
  • information relating to your real-time location;
  • information that you post on the website in the form of comments and reviews about other Users.
  • Video/Photos you may upload, job categories and desired hourly rate and other information we may suggest or you decide to upload to your Profile.
  • Our payment processing provider, currently Stripe, Inc, also collects your name, company name, location, email address, phone number and account password, to set up your account, your business and personal tax, national insurance, or other government-issued identification numbers, as well as your date of birth, to verify your identity for underwriting purposes, your bank account information, to settle funds for your transactions and your IP addresses, devices, and locations used to access Stripe, which will be linked to your account for fraud detection/prevention purposes. Stripe use the data to process payments and for other purposes set out in their own privacy policy, which you can find here. You are under no obligation to provide any such information to us. However, you may not be able to take full advantage of particular opportunities provided through the Service.
  • IP Address. When you visit and interact with the website, Myhelpathome.org and/or third parties with whom Myhelpathome.org has contracted to provide services to Myhelpathome.org may automatically collect your Internet Protocol Address (“IP Address”), which is a number that is automatically assigned to the computer that you are using by your Internet Service Provider. This number is identified and logged automatically in our server log files whenever you visit the website, along with the time(s) of your visit(s) and the page(s) that you visited. We use IP Addresses to monitor the regions from which Users navigate the website and for fraud prevention purposes.


1.2 Information Provided by a Disclosure and Barring Service (“DBS”) Check

  • We may provide some or all Members with the option of requesting DBS checks to be run on themselves. Any such DBS checks will be subject to the terms we establish for such checks on the Site pages where you may request them, the terms of this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. My Help at Home may receive a copy of, or otherwise have access to, your completed DBS checks. The service provider who completes the DBS checks may send the results to you by email or postal mail. You acknowledge that sensitive material may be included in your DBS checks, and that you are responsible for providing us and our service provider with correct mailing information.


1.3 Additional Personal Information My Help at Home collects from Third parties

  • In addition to the information you provide to My Help at Home, or we otherwise obtain in accordance with this Privacy Policy, My Help at Home reserves the right for its service provider to use your Personal Information to scan a variety of sources, which may include certain media streams, terrorist watch lists, criminal and fugitive watch lists, fraud watch lists, law enforcement reports, sex offender registries and other data in order to provide My Help at Home information to evaluate your suitability for My Help at Home membership, on an ongoing basis (“Verification Checks”). The results of these checks will be made available to My Help at Home but will not be made available to any Site Visitor or Member. IF YOU DO NOT WANT THESE VERIFICATION CHECKS TO BE PERFORMED, YOU SHOULD NOT USE MY HELP AT HOME.
  • My Help at Home may also obtain publicly available Personal Information, such as demographic data, and other information to enable it to comply with regulatory requirements, ensure the accuracy of data, better understand your likely interests, prevent fraud, etc.


BY AGREEING TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY AND MY HELP AT HOME’S TERMS OF USE, YOU AGREE TO ALLOW MY HELP AT HOME TO PERFORM VERIFICATION CHECKS DESCRIBED IN SECTION 4. NO FURTHER CONSENT FROM YOU IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VERIFICATION CHECK TO BE PERFORMED.

  • Information that you submit via the website or application may be transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). For example, this may happen if one or more of our servers are from time to time located in a country outside the EEA or one of our service providers is located in a country outside the EEA.
  • If you make contact with any User featured on the website, your details may be transferred outside the EEA. 
  • If we transfer your details outside the EEA in this way, we will take steps to ensure that your privacy rights continue to be protected.
  • By submitting information via the website or application, you agree to this storing, processing and transfer. 
  • In addition, if you use our Services whilst you are outside the EEA, you information may be transferred outside the EEA in order to provide you with those Services.

1. Information received by the Company

2.1 My Help at Home uses the personal information that you provide to us for the following purposes:

  • connect you with Care Providers or Care Seekers that appear to meet your needs and preferences.
  • register and service your account, contact you in response to questions, and solicit feedback and input from you (for example: via email surveys).
  • enable providers and seekers to search based on the Personal Information you have made available on the Site, and the information others have provided about you so that they can better find care matches.
  • determine the suitability of Members to participate in My Help at Home. My Help at Home reserves the right to refuse membership to any individual in its sole discretion for any or no reason. Among other things, we may refuse or terminate membership based on the results of any identity checks, DBS checks, verification checks, or Member complaints. My Help at Home may also use a Member’s IP address to determine what country they are coming from, which may impact whether they qualify for My Help at Home membership.
  • target promotional messages or content on the Site, via email or other ads on My Help at Home or third party sites.
  • for billing, identification and authentication, and fraud prevention purposes;
  • to analyse website usage and improve our products and the Service;
  • to contact you and deliver administrative notices and communications relevant to your use our products and services;
  • for internal market research, troubleshooting problems, and detecting and protecting against error, fraud or other criminal activity;
  • with your consent, for distribution to third-party contractors that provide services to the Company and partners of the Company who are bound by privacy restrictions at least as restrictive as those set forth in this Policy;
  • send you information we think you may find useful or which you have requested from us, including receipt of marketing communications.
  • to enforce our Terms of Service; 

Although we ensure that our third-party agents (“Agents”) receiving your information are bound by privacy restrictions at least as restrictive as those set forth in this policy, My Help at Home is not responsible for any issues that may arise regarding the Privacy Policies of any of its affiliates or advertisers. When you visit the website, the Company may automatically collect additional information about you, such as the type of internet browser or mobile device you use, as well as any website from which you have come to the website or application. You cannot be identified based on this information and we use it for analysis purposes to market the service:

  • Improve and enhance the Service so that it operates more effectively;
  • Increase the likelihood that a group’s experience with the Service is relevant to its interests as a whole;

The Company uses data at User level to sell products and services to Users who express an interest in these products and services, through a poll for example, or to Users who can be presumed to have an interest based on browsing habits.

2.2 Cookies

When you visit websites on the Internet, your browser may automatically transmit information to the websites you visit throughout every visit. Like many websites, we may use “cookies” to collect information. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer’s hard disk for record-keeping purposes. We may utilise persistent cookies that only the Company can read and use, to save your login information for future logins to the Service, to hold session information and to track user preferences. We may utilise session ID cookies to enable certain features of the Service, to better understand how you interact with the website and to monitor aggregate usage by our users and web traffic routing on the Service, to track the number of entries in Company promotions, sweepstakes and contests and to identify visited areas of the website and Service. Unlike persistent cookies, session cookies are deleted from your computer when you log out from the website and Service and then close your browser.

  • Google Analytics. Google analytics cookies are used in order to collect information about how visitors use our website. All data collected via this cookie is anonymous and non user specific. Information includes the number of visitors to the site, where the visitors have come from and which pages they have viewed. This information is important, as it helps us to improve the performance of our website and monitor our visitor levels.
  • The _utma and _utmb cookies expire after a maximum period of 2 years, unless cookies are cleared before this date. The _utmc cookie is no longer set and the _utmz cookie expires after 6 months, or less if cookies are cleared prior to this date.
  • We may also use retargeting cookies to provide you with personalised adverts when you visit other selected websites.
  • Third-party advertisers on the website may also place or read cookies on your browser and we may use Flash cookies (or local shared objects) to store your preferences or display content based upon what you view on our site, to personalise your visit. This information is collected anonymously, in a manner that does not personally identify you. 
  • The Company may use Cookies and other technologies and personal information to place ads where they believe interested parties will see them.
  • Your Myhelpathome.org account is password-protected so that only you and authorised Company staff have access to your account information. In order to maintain this protection, please do not give your password to anyone. 
  • If someone represents to you they are Company staff and asks for any personal account information, including your password, check their URL. If it doesn’t say they are patrick@Myhelpathome.org, they aren’t. Also, if you share a computer, you should sign out of your My Help at Home account and close the browser window before someone else logs in. This will help protect your information entered on public terminals from disclosure to third parties. 
  • The Company makes every effort to ensure that your information is secure on its system by backing up data in separate back-up drives and uses public key access encryption and firewalls on both our main and backup servers. Extremely sensitive information, such as credit card numbers, is always transmitted in encrypted form. Only certain authorised Company staff can access personal information, only when it is relevant to their job duties. 
  • The Company has staff dedicated to maintaining this Privacy Policy and other privacy initiatives, periodically reviewing security and making sure that every Company employee is aware of our security practices. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, the Company cannot absolutely guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and would like to remind you that you are doing so at your own risk.

5. How can Users edit their information?

4.1 With All My Help at Home Site Visitors and Members

  • In order to increase your chances of finding a job or finding the care you need, we share all of the information, aside from your contact information, that you include in a job posting or provider profile with people who visit our Site. 
  • With certain exceptions, you choose how much detail you want to include in either your job posting or your provider profile; the more information you share, however, the better chance you have of finding either care or a job that works for you. 
  • In addition, if you complete DBS checks through My Help at Home, a statement will be included in your Member profile to confirm that you have completed that check. If we offer these checks to you and you chose not to request one, a statement will be included in your Member profile to confirm that these checks have not been completed. This information will be made available to Site Visitors and Members. 
  • We will not share your DBS checks or results with any other Site Visitor or Member, unless you specifically ask us to. If a Member requests a copy of your DBS checks and results directly from you, you are not obliged to provide a copy of your DBS checks and results to the Member but you may chose to do so.


4.2 With Other My Help at Home Members

  • In addition to the information that is provided to all visitors to My Help at Home, Care Provider reviews are made available to all Members. 
  • In addition, your approximate residence location (through Google map plotting) is made available to all Members.


4.3 With My Help at Home Vendors/Service Providers

  • We also share Personal Information with vendors who are performing services for My Help at Home on behalf of My Help at Home, including without limitation, vendors who provide email services, vendors who provide demographic information, vendors who process identity checks, DBS checks and verification checks, vendors who process credit card payments, vendors who provide geo-location information, vendors who run classified advertising businesses, and vendors who send SMS messages to Members’ mobile phone numbers, in each case to the extent applicable. 
  • My Help at Home has selected vendors who maintain high standards with respect to privacy and agree to only use the Personal Information to perform a specific service on behalf of My Help at Home.


4.4 With Listings in Google and Other Public Search Engines, and on third party websites

  • In an effort to further facilitate your ability to find a caregiver or find a job, selected information contained in job postings and caregiver profiles by Care Seekers and Care Providers, which may include photo, first name, first initial of last name, town, job/provider description, may also be shared with third party search engines and other vendors who run classified advertising businesses, or with third party websites, and thus may be listed in third party web site search results (e.g., Google), and on third party websites which would make that information available to the public and allow them to link to your My Help at Home posting.
  • Members can opt-out of this sharing by contacting webmaster@myhelpathome.org.


4.5.Disclosure by Law

  • You acknowledge and agree that we may disclose information we’ve collected about you, if required to do so by law or if we, in our sole discretion, believe that disclosure is reasonable to (1) comply with the law, requests or orders from law enforcement agencies, or any legal process (whether or not such disclosure is required by applicable law); (2) protect or defend My Help at Home’s, or a third party’s, rights or property; or (3) protect someone’s health or safety, such as when harm or violence against any person (including you) is threatened.


4.6 Our Affiliates

  • You acknowledge and agree that we may disclose any of the information we’ve collected about you to any of our affiliates or subsidiaries, for the purposes of providing you with the Services, operating the Site, and our other commercial purposes. When we disclose your information to our affiliates or subsidiaries outside the European Economic Area, we do so on the basis of the standards set out in the European Commission approved Standard Contractual Clauses for the export of personal data, and our own high standards of data security and respect for your privacy.


4.7 With Your Consent

  • We also may share your Personal Information with a third party if you consent to the sharing.


  • You have a legal right under the Data Protection Act 1998 to a copy of all the personal information about you held by us. Upon request, we will provide you with a copy of this information, subject to a fee not exceeding the prescribed fee permitted by law. You also have a right to correct any errors in any information we hold about you. To update your personal info, click My Account at the top of any page. There you can view, update and correct your account information. You may edit your account information at any time — all you need is your username and password.
  • Our databases automatically update any Personal Information you edit in your profile, or that you request we edit. Information transmitted through boards, chats, polls or through any other means remains in our databases and becomes the property of the Company upon submission.
  • The Company’s security and privacy policy are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary. 
  • This policy might change as the Company updates and expands the Service. 
  • The Company will endeavour to notify you of these changes by email, but will not be liable for any failure to do so. 
  • The Company also encourages you to review this privacy policy periodically.
